Synopsis: Gregg Durand (Mark Wahlberg) is happily married to his wife Melanie (Juliette Lewis), and has a beautiful young daughter Penelope (Elle Fanning). They are on the freeway on the way to a wedding with Melanie’s sister Marsha Levi (Ali Larter). However a Hummer hits the Durand’s car causing it to collide into a truck flipping it off the highway into a ditch and then the car catches fire and not long after explodes. After the horrific accident Gregg is the only one who survives. Waiting in the middle of the desert for the cops to come a woman appears out of the blue. The woman is Jerry Spike (Karen Black). She offers the grieving Gregg to reset his life five minutes from when the accident happens with a twist. He has ten tries. Jerry is giving Gregg a second chance, ten times and he doesn’t refuse.

However when he resets everything is the same, his daughter, the car, except his wife (Edie Falco); but the same fate happens again. Can he stop the inevitable from happening and get his real wife back? And who is Jerry anyway? The new Melanie’s are played by in order of reset: Edie Falco, Jennifer Tilly, Jennifer Esposito, Sandra Bullock, Amanda Peet, Jennifer Connelly, Kate Beckinsale, Gwyneth Paltrow, and Elizabeth Shue.

Reset is absolutely amazing. Edie Falco, Jennifer Tilly, Jennifer Esposito, Amanda Peet, Sandra Bullock, Kate Beckinsale, Jennifer Connelly, Gwyneth Paltrow, and Elizabeth Shue all give amazing performances. Karen Black has a truly evil presence in a very subtle light, Elle Fanning has the look of complete innocence and Mark Wahlberg seems to have the weight of the world on his shoulders. With thousands of emotions all of these actors pull it off. In the end Juliette Lewis has a heart-breaking performance in sure of an Oscar nomination. Reset is what people should do, watching it over and over again.

Fincher gives the film a unique visual feel with many eye-popping moments keeping David Koepp’s screenplay going.

When the film is over you want to Reset it again.

Bases itself off so many lame excuses. What is the point of the actresses changing? What is the plot to begin with? It sucks.
